Italian coach Massimo Carrera will definitely not return to Spartak Moscow this year. The specialist’s chances of signing a contract with the red-and-white RB-Sport were assessed by his agent Andrea D’Amico.
According to the Italian representative, until the end of the year, Carrera will remain at home for family reasons. “What will happen next, we’ll see. He remembers a very good season he spent at Spartak, ”added D’Amico.
Since May of this year, Spartak has been headed by Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria. Under him, the club dropped out of the Champions League qualification, lost two of three matches in the group stage of the Europa League, and in the Russian championship after 12 rounds it takes seventh place.
Carrera led Spartak from 2016 to 2018. Under him, the red and white won the championship title for the only time in 19 years. In addition, the club won the Russian Super Cup.
