Pochettino reveals sadness with boos from Parisian fans

Bitterness was very present this Sunday in the Parc des Princes. PSG faced Bordeaux, in a duel that won 3-0, with goals from Kylian Mbappé, Neymar and Leandro Paredes, for the 28th round of a Ligue 1 that seems to be guaranteed for the team from the French capital. But the highlight was the hostile reception that the team had with the boos of the Parisian crowd.

And the loudest fans made their dissatisfaction very evident. First with a boo for all the players when their names were announced over the loudspeakers, with the exception of Kylian Mbappé, who got a lot of applause.

“How do we experience the public’s reaction? Sadly,” admitted coach Mauricio Pochettino. “Sadness, I think is the appropriate term, the sadness of living an afternoon like this in the Parc des Princes,” he added.

And once the game started, the same script was repeated. Mbappé was applauded every time he touched the ball, while Lionel Messi and Neymar were booed by the Parisian crowd, especially in the first half, and a little less in the second.

The boos for Neymar and Messi and the applause for Mbappé were accompanied by hostile chants towards the team, with insults and the cry of ‘Out of the board’.

“We understand your disappointment, your anger and your screams (…). It is now that we have to raise our heads and be able to move forward to win this Ligue 1”, said defender Presnel Kimpembe.

Tribuna Auteuil fans, the loudest, brought dozens of rolls of toilet paper, which they apparently couldn’t play, perhaps seized by the club’s security.
