Arsenal beat Leicester to reach fifth straight win in English

This Sunday, the Arsenal reached the fifth consecutive victory in the English Premier League. With goals from Thomas Partey and Lacazette, the London team defeated Leicester 2-0 at home.

Arsenal climbed to fourth place with 51 points and entered the classification zone for the next Champions League. Leicester, on the other hand, has a regular campaign and is in 12th position with 33 points.

In a good first half, Arsenal reached the goal in the 11th minute with Thomas Partey, after a cross by Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian also had a good chance at the beginning, but stopped in defense of goalkeeper Schmeichel. Leicester came close to equalizing with Barnes’ header, but Ramsdale stretched out and warded off the danger.

In the second stage, the hosts expanded after a controversial bid. Ben White headed in a great save by Schmeichel, after which Söyüncü handled the ball. The penalty was scored and Lacazette charged with “stop” to the back of the net.

In the next round of the Premier League, Arsenal face Liverpool, at home, this Wednesday, at 17:15 (Brasília time). Leicester face Rennes, next Thursday, for the return game of the Conference League, away from home. In the first leg, the English won 2-0.
