The athlete defeated Czech Tomas Machats in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. The meeting lasted one hour and 12 minutes and ended with a score of 6:3, 6:2 in favor of the Russian. In the third round, Medvedev will play against the winner of the match between Serbian Filip Krajinovic and Frenchman Gael Monfils.

Medvedev for the first time in his career became the first racket of the world on February 28. The 26-year-old Russian has an ATP rating of 8615 points. He beat former leader Djokovic. The Serbian tennis player now has 8465 points. Zverev closes the top three with 7515 points.
