The most unlucky guy of the season stopped by the FIS. Absurd pictures

The Slovenian jumper is probably the biggest unlucky guy of the 2021/2022 season. The least titled of the Prevc brothers has the best season in his career. In the general classification of the World Cup, he is 9th (612 points) and only seventh is better of the Slovenes (765 points). However, the 26-year-old Cene Prevc is extremely unlucky for the big events this season.

The most unlucky guy of the season?

Just before qualifying for the first TCS competition in Oberstdorf Prevc a fall as his flat Slatnars hit the fresh snow and a jumper was pulled out of them. There was no injury, but the Slovene was badly battered, which made it difficult for him to compete.

It was even worse at the Olympic Games, specifically on the normal hill, where Cene Prevc … could even compete for a medal. During training, Prevc showed two jumps in order to be in the top 3 jumpers – 99.5 meters, which gave him third place in the first training and 102 meters in the sixth training, in which the Slovene was also third. His coach, Robert Hrgota, had five great players with him and a very difficult decision. And once again in his career, Cene Prevc, who was removed from the squad, was the victim of this situation,

Cene Prevc received an even stronger blow at the World Ski Championships. And once again he fell victim to the great form of the Slovenes. Ultimately, four Slovenes were in the top six of the competition.

In two training sessions deciding who will be among the four jumpers for the Cene Prevc competition, he flew 213 meters twice … But he was the weakest Slovene. The weakest, i.e. … 8th and 13th in the training classification. Other nations could only dream of such results, and Prevc … had to swallow a bitter pill because he was removed from the warehouse.

The Slovenian coach decided that Cene would not be in the Sunday team competition, so the jumper just a few minutes after the decision asked to fly as a pre-jumper and … he started to make a real sensation. As a pre-jumper, Cene Prevc flew 234, 208.5, 243.5, 232 and 204 meters consecutively and did it from exactly the same runs as the competitors in the competition. Well, before the competition in Thursday’s qualifications he even achieved the longest distance of all the jumpers who started in the qualification.

Strange regulations will take away a medal from him

We will not be wrong to say that if Cene Prevc had entered the competition as a full-fledged jumper, he would have competed for the World Ski Championships medal. It is very possible that coach Robert Hrgota would also change his arrangements and decided that Prevc, who jumped this way, should also start in the Sunday team. Unfortunately, the bizarre laws prevent him from doing this. On Thursday, World Cup director Sandro Pertile admitted that the rules had changed before this season and that if a jumper also started as a pre-jumper on a given weekend, he cannot then take part in the competition.

This means, for example, that Dawid Kubacki, reserve player in Poland, can only watch jumps on the hill for two days, and he cannot train as a pre-jumper. Who benefits the most? Like it or not, they are Germany, who have the world champion Karl Geiger in their ranks, so they put up five jumpers in the competition. And out of these five jumping competitors, Stefan Horngacher will choose the squad for the team.

Cene Prevc will end his career soon?

Before the Olympics, there were rumors that Prevc might end his career. The Slovene spoke about it in interviews at the beginning of the season. It is only the first year with such successes for him and the jumper in the fall was close to making a decision that in March 2022 he will make his last jumps. Later, however, high positions in the competition followed and the player’s morale rose. Even during the Olympics, it seemed that the Slovene was closer to continuing his career, but it turns out that now the jumper has a lot of thoughts in his head. Val 202 journalist Bostjan Rebersak told us that Prevc is still considering retiring. The decision is to be made before the final World Cup competition in Planica
