Esportsmen from the Russian team Team Spirit will move to Serbia without changing their citizenship
Konstantin Machaidze, brand director of the Russian Team Spirit team, appreciated the information about the change of citizenship by cybersportsmen. His words are quoted by Cybersport.ru.
Machaidze confirmed that the team will temporarily move to Serbia, as it is easier to obtain visas for participation in international competitions and organize logistics in this country. He also stated that Team Spirit representatives are not going to change citizenship. “We do not want to get rid of associations with Russia, Ukraine or the CIS,” the director stressed.
Earlier on March 11, information appeared that the leadership of Team Spirit was considering the possibility of obtaining Serbian citizenship. It was noted that their families will move along with the athletes. The team includes Russians Alexander TORONTOTOKYO Khertek, Magomed Collapse Khalilov, Yaroslav Miposhka Naydenov, as well as Ukrainians Ilya yatoro Mulyarchuk and Miroslav Mira Kolpakov.
In October last year, Team Spirit won the 10th Dota 2 World Championship. Esports players received about $18.2 million for the first place.
