Ukrainian Football Federation shows stadium bombed and destroyed by Russia

On Friday morning, the Ukrainian Football Federation released images showing the Yuri Gagarin Stadium, in the northern city of Chernihiv, completely destroyed after a Russian bombing.

In a statement published on the Federation’s website, FC Desna, the team that plays in the stadium, responded to the Russian attacks.

“Once again, Moscow’s invaders have fired on the city’s most dangerous military infrastructure – the city’s team stadium. In the photos, the consequences of the night bombing. But we will be able to rebuild all this, we will become stronger and better. And you neighbors will live with it all your life. Victory for the truth, victory for Ukraine!” the statement read.

Since it was invaded by Russian troops on February 24, Ukraine has been suffering from bombings and attacks inside the country. The Russians, because of this, are targets of sanctions because of the war.
