The peasant community of Urinsaya (Espinar), the representatives of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and of MMG Las Bambas, did not reach an agreement in the joint meeting they held yesterday.
As quoted by the journalist José Víctor Salcedo, representatives of the community point out that both the company and the Government “have no will to solve their demand”, that is, to consider Urinsaya as a direct area of influence (AID) of Las Bambas.
“The Executive and Las Bambas presented their proposals, but they were not accepted. Thus the dialogue failed and the protest continues. There is not a classic blockade of the road with stones and sticks, but the community members are on one side of the corridor so that no company vehicle passes by,” says the journalist.
In the minutes of the meeting, “The Executive Branch requests that the community of Urinsaya, in an act of good faith, lift its measure of struggle for a period of 90 days” while the Ministry of Energy and Mines reviews the regulatory framework for consider it as AID
