After great goal, Bruno Guimarães celebrates start for Newcastle and projects great achievements

There is no doubt that the arrival of new reinforcements at Newcastle has had a great positive impact on the team. Among them, is the Brazilian Bruno Guimarães, author of a great goal in the victory over Southampton, by 2 to 1, this Thursday. After the match, the midfielder celebrated his start in English football and projected great achievements for the newly acquired club by a Saudi Arabian investment fund.

“Since I arrived, everything has been amazing and I’m really happy to be here. I’m looking forward to playing more. The fans are amazing. When I walk along the sidewalk, I take pictures with them and talk a little bit too. It’s very important for me to be able to do this”, said the player in an interview with the British newspaper Sky Sports.

“If the club has a project and aspires to the greatest achievements, of course it involves the Champions League. It is the biggest club competition in the world, but obviously we want to win the Premier League too”, he projected.

According to survey of Footstats, Bruno Guimarães had great numbers in the team’s last victory. In addition to the decisive goal, the Brazilian contributed with an assist for finishing, 19 successful passes, two dribbles and an interception.

Signed by Newcastle in January this year, for around 40 million euros (R$ 237 million at the time), Bruno left Lyon after two years at the French club. The player also spoke about the differences between French and English football.

“The Premier League is fast and intense. It’s physically similar to French football, but here it’s definitely faster and I think the best way to adapt is to be on the pitch. The more I play, the faster I learn,” he said.

Asked about Arsenal’s interest in the last transfer window, the athlete confirmed that he talked to other teams, but revealed that he wanted to play for Newcastle.

“I talked to other clubs, but the only concrete proposal I received was from Newcastle and I wanted to come here. I always wanted to play in the Premier League and I am honored to be part of the start of a new sporting project for this club.” .

In 2022, Newcastle still hasn’t lost and has more than 80% success. In eight matches, there were six wins and two draws, under the command of Eddie Howe, which made the team reach the 14th position in the table and distance itself from the relegation zone.

The team is now preparing for the duel against Chelsea, which takes place this Sunday at 11 am (Brasilia time).
