Elena Vyalbe called the victory of Nepryaeva in the overall standings of the KM the revival of women’s skiing in Russia
President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe praised the first place of the Russian woman Natalya Nepryaeva in the overall World Cup standings. She spoke about this on the air of “Match TV”.
Vyalbe called Nepryaeva’s victory a revival of women’s skiing in Russia. “When there are medals at the Olympic Games or World Championships, this is quite precise. As for the Big Crystal Globes, it shows stability throughout the season,” she explained. According to the coach, this is just the beginning for the athlete, other achievements are ahead of her.
On March 5, the Russian woman won ahead of schedule in the overall standings of the World Cup. This became known after a classic marathon was held at the stage in Oslo, Norway, where the main rival of the Russian woman, Swede Ebba Andersson, took ninth place.
Nepryaeva is an Olympic champion and a two-time medalist of the Beijing Olympic Games, a three-time winner of the world championships. Also in 2022, she became the first Russian skier to win the overall standings of the Tour de Ski multi-day race.
