Bitci Baskonia beat Asvel Villeurbanne 69-72 the match corresponding to 29th day of the Euroleague which he played in France this Thursday, March 10, and linked his second win in a row in this competition.
Both teams struggled to score in the opening minutes and made numerous mistakes against their rival’s aggressive defenses. In fact, Baskonia struggled to overcome the French team’s substitution defense and it was Wade Baldwin with two triples who managed to unclog his team’s attack, which got better as the minutes went by and achieved a four-point lead (14-18) at the end of the first quarter.
Baskonia lost offensive fluidity at the beginning of the second quarter and the local team tied the match (22-22). However, the Vitoria-Gasteiz team reacted with the entry of Arturs Kurucs and prevented Asvel from turning the score around. Neven Spahija’s men went into the break with a favorable score of 30-33.
After the restart, the Basque team started with more rhythm and success.
