In connection with the war in Ukraine, it introduced special regulations to help players who perform every day not only in the endangered area, but also in Russia. The case is closely followed by four footballers from Poland. They can suspend their current contracts until the end of June this year and play in another band. After the season, however, they have to return to the clubs with which they are permanently associated.
What next with Polish footballers in the Russian league?
Grzegorz Krychowiak, Maciej Rybus and Sebastian Szymañski play in the Russian league. The former showed the greatest initiative from the very first days of the war. First, he publicly spoke out against the Russian invasion, and then began talks with the Krasnodar authorities on the premature termination of the agreement. He also persuaded other foreigners from his team to behave in a similar way.
As a result, Victor Classon and Remy Cabella have already left Krasnodar, and the contracts of the others have been suspended. Only Grzegorz Krychowiak still does not know what he is up to. His talks with the club are still ongoing, and the midfielder does not want to suspend the contract, but to break it. The future of the Pole is to be revealed in the coming days.
Szymañski, Rybus and Augustyniak will not leave Russia any time soon
A different approach is presented by Sebastian Szymañski from Dynamo Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow. As reported by “WP Sportowe Fakty”, both of them do not intend to leave Russia. The former does not want to come into conflict with the club, which gave him a raise not long ago. The 22-year-old hopes that a team from one of the leading European leagues will sign up for him in the summer and then, as a permanent transfer, will leave Russia.
In turn, Rybus intends to fulfill the contract with “Parowozy” until the end. His contract with the club will expire in three months. The player has no offers from other clubs on the table and is not sure about his future. Besides, his wife is Russian and one of their sons is already attending a kindergarten in Moscow.
Rafa³ Augustyniak found himself in a similar situation. Yekaterinburg is connected with Ural until June this year. The Pole has suspended talks on a new contract and will probably change the colors of the club after the end of the season.
