It became known the future of Karpin in the Russian national team

Valery Karpin will continue to work with the Russian national football team until the end of 2022

The head coach of the Russian national football team Valery Karpin will continue to work with the team. This was reported on the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).

The agreement with the specialist has been extended until the end of 2022. It is noted that Karpin will be able to combine work with the position of the head coach of Rostov until the moment the Russian team returns to play in the international arena. “Valery Georgievich is an ambitious specialist who needs constant competitive practice,” said Alexander Dyukov, head of the RFU.

Karpin will lead the national team in the summer of 2021. Under his leadership, the national team reached the play-offs for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but due to FIFA and UEFA sanctions, they lost the opportunity to take part in the tournament.

Karpin led Rostov from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, he headed the Armavir “Torpedo”, “Mallorca” and the Moscow “Spartak”. With red and white, he twice became the silver medalist of the Russian championship.
