The Belarusian-Russian billionaire wants to sue the Americans. He avenges his son

Shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, it seemed that the first concrete decisions regarding Haas’ further cooperation with the father of the 23-year-old driver should be a matter of time. However, things began to take a little longer, which aroused irritation among many fans around the world.

Ultimately, the American team rose to the occasion and, after difficult negotiations with the Mazepin family, decided to terminate the contract with the 23-year-old driver. This decision was also tantamount to terminating the contract with Uralkali, managed by Dmitry Mazepin. It is not yet known who will replace the Russian in the team and whether a new sponsor has already been found.

Mazepin doesn’t give up on Haas. He is demanding a refund

However, this is not the end of the problems with the Mazepin family. The father of the young driver has already announced that he does not intend to leave the whole case like this and wants to go to court. The Belarusian-Russian billionaire issued a special statement in which he said that the contract with Uralkali was terminated “unilaterally”, so he reserves the right to pursue claims for damages and reimbursement of significant amounts in relation to already incurred expenses.

Haas’s refund and the remainder of Uralkali’s 2022 sponsorship funding will be used to set up the We Compete As One athlete support foundation, the statement added.

Dmitry Mazepin is therefore openly announcing his retaliation for kicking his son out and preparing for a legal war with Haas. Of course, the statement also included an opinion on the separation of politics from sport and unjustified pressure from external factors.
