After the clashes between barristas from Querétaro and Atlas at the La Corregidora stadium, Mexican league clubs undertake a campaign that seeks to accredit and identify fans come to the stadiums.
This Tuesday, the Grupo Orlegi, owner of the Santos, Atlas and Tampico Madero clubspresented a statement specifying that the fans who want to enter the stadiums Corona, Jalisco and Tamaulipas, in which these three clubs play as locals, must be licensed.
“Being able to guarantee the safety of each and every attendee is our priority. For this reason, together with the existing security measures and the guidelines agreed by the Liga MX owners assemblywe want to inform you that, starting with our next home game, no person will be able to access our stadiums without being 100% accredited and identified”, says the statement.
According to the group, this project consists of “several phases”which will be informed “step by step”.
“Our fans will have the peace of mind that all stadium attendees will be fully accredited and identified. Goodbye to anonymity in our stadiums”, noted the group.
With this measure, Santos, Atlas and Tampico Madero hope to offer “a family atmosphere” and end cases of violence in the stadiums, like the one last Saturday, which left dozens of fans injured in Querétaro.
The first club to implement this new measure will be Santos Laguna, which will receive the Xolos from Tijuana on Sunday; while Atlas, whose fans were affected by the violence in their last game, will do so for the match on March 20, when they host Chivas in the Clásico Tapatío. (D)
