The Arbitration Court of Sport received an appeal filed by the Russian Piki Nona Association (FUR) against the decisions taken on February 28 by the FIFA office and the UEFA Executive Committee to suspend Russian teams and clubs from their competitions, the release reads.

What will the Sports Court of Arbitration Do?

The Russian Football Federation asks for the cancellation of the decisions of international organizations and the restoration of all Russian teams and clubs to participate in the tournaments and UEFA. RFU also filed a motion to stay the execution of each of the contested decisions. The CAS decision is likely to be made in a few days.

Let us remind you that the Russian team was supposed to play on March 24 in Moscow against Poland in the semi-final play-off match for the promotion to the world championship in Qatar. The winner of this duel would face the better of Sweden – Czech Republic.
