Fetisov assessed the consequences of the departure of legionnaires from the KHL clubs

Two-time Olympic hockey champion Vyacheslav Fetisov commented on the departure of foreign players from the clubs of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). KP reports.

The 63-year-old expert said that this situation allows the league teams to reformat. Fetisov indicated that clubs will now be forced to make adjustments to their financial capacity.

He admitted that the KHL may refuse to buy players within the league and rely on the formation of teams. He called for the involvement of young hockey players against the backdrop of the departure of foreigners.

Earlier it became known that the National Hockey League (NHL) has suspended relations with the KHL. This will complicate the process of signing contracts with the Russians for North American clubs.

The KHL clarified that as of the evening of March 5, 14 players with foreign citizenship left the clubs. “The League does not see any danger for foreign players staying in Russia. Additionally, the KHL sent an official letter to the Ministry of Sports with a request to provide security guarantees, ”the league noted.
