Haaland received a “better” offer from United, but chose to settle with Dortmund

top scorer of Borussia Dortmund, Erling Haaland received a “better” offer from Manchester United before settling with the German club in early 2020.

“Our offer was not the best. Manchester United’s proposal was better. But businessman Mino Raiola recognized that Erling would be in better hands with us,” Dortmund executive director Hans-Joachim Watzke said in an interview with Sport1.

The Norwegian striker left Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020 for €20 million (£131 million currently).

This season, Haaland played ten games, scoring 13 goals and four assists. With the Borussia shirt, he has 70 goals and 19 passes for goal in 69 matches. However, the center forward injured his hip and should be out for “a few weeks”.

Deputy leader of Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund returns to the field on Saturday, at 10:30 am (GMT), when they host Colônia. The match is valid for the 10th round of the championship.
