This year the Tirreno Adriatico will not have the traditional San Benedetto del Tronto time trial or a big stage with a high finish, and will offer 2 days for sprinters and a series of routes with short and explosive final climbs that promise a show.

The only mountain stage will be the sixth, on the 11th, with a double ascent to Monte Carpegna, 6 km long, but with a 10 percent average gradient and sections of 13 before going down to the finish line.

“It’s a nice but hard course, which gives possibilities to all kinds of cyclists. For the sprints we have Mark Cavendish, but also Julian and Remco can achieve good results. The big differences in the general will come in Carpegna, which is a difficult climb we know about the Giro”, explained Davide Bramati, Sporting Director of Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl.
