Exhibition of the Jumbo and Laporte the first leader of the race

The French Christophe Laporte of Jumbo-Vismawon this Sunday in the first stage of the Partís-Niza, arriving ahead of his teammates, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic and the Belgian Wout van Aert, with whom he reached the Mantes-la-Ville finish line after a journey of 159.8 kilometres.

This trio launched an attack late in the course to stake the win in the last effort, in which Christophe Laporte sealed his 22nd win as a professional and his first this year.

Behind the Jumbo-Visma trio finished, at 19 seconds, Frenchman Pierre Latour (TotalEnergies). Fifth, to give the peloton time, the Danish Mads Pedersen qualified, at 22.

In the general and after applying the bonuses, Laporte, 29, wears the first leader’s jersey, with 4 seconds ahead of Roglic and 6 over Van Aert.

This Monday the second of the eight stages of the race takes place. It will be 159.2 kilometers between Auffargis and Orléans.
