Arsenal visited Watford this Sunday and won 3-2, in a game valid for the Premier League. With the result, the team reached the fourth place in the table, with 48 points, one ahead of Manchester United.
The victory is also essential for the team to continue seeking a spot in the next edition of the Champions League. Watford, on the other hand, wasted the opportunity to escape the relegation zone and remains in the penultimate position with 19 points.
Arsenal took a scare in the first few seconds of the match. Striker Dennis caught the defense off guard, emerged alone inside the area and scored the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
Five minutes later, the Gunners responded with Odegaard. The Norwegian scored with Saka and received close to the small area, finishing in the corner and opening the scoring.
At 11, Camilo Hernández tied the match with a great goal. The Colombian received a cross and amended a bicycle kick, in the corner of goalkeeper Ramsdale.
Arsenal, however, opened the gap again in the 30th minute, when Saka scored with Lacazette and hit with class, in the counter-foot of the opposing archer.
In the second stage, the visitors increased their advantage with a beautiful goal from Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli. After a good offensive plot by Mikel Arteta’s team, the striker received it at the entrance of the area and hit a beautiful kick in the angle.
Watford tried to react, but showed many problems in their offensive actions. Arsenal, then, just managed the result and took advantage of the spaces to attack in counterattacks, even reaching the post in a fast transition, already in the 35th minute.
However, the home team managed to decrease, in the 42nd minute, when Sissoko appeared in the small area, had a failure by defender Ben White and touched the goalkeeper’s exit. The team, however, could not reach a tie.
The London club returns to the field next Sunday, against Leicester City. The match will take place at 13:30 (BrasÃlia time), at the Emirates Stadium.
