Wilfredo Leon Show in the Italian Cup semi-finals. 26 points!
The favorite in the first Italian Cup semi-final game was Perugia, which is now by far the strongest team in Italy. In the league table, the team led by a confident lead with a 10-point advantage over the second Lube Civitanova. Piacenza, on the other hand, only comes in seventh.
The reality, however, turned out to be definitely different and Piacenza imposed very tough conditions on the hosts. The first set has already proved that it will be a very difficult match for the Z team. At the beginning, the guests gained a four-point advantage and forced Grbit’s players to make up for the losses. Eventually it worked, but only in the end. The set ended with the result 25:23.
The second set was almost identical to the first set, but this time Perugia had the advantage from the beginning. The hosts, however, squandered their advantage and gave Piacenza even in sets. In the third set, however, Perugia began to gain more and more weight mainly due to WIlfredo Leon, who was infallible in the attack. He did not stand out from him either.
The hosts won the third set again 25:23 and it undercut Piacenza’s wings. The last set was already very one-sided and it was the favorites who confirmed their aspirations to play in the final. They probably won 25:18 and they could celebrate because they will play for the trophy on Sunday. He was by far the best player of the match. The Polish representative scored 26 points (21 with an attack, 3 with a service and 2 with a block).
In Sunday’s final, Perugia will face, who probably smashed Milano 3: 0 (25:14, 25:20, 25:20).
