The Polish Biathlon Association helps Ukrainian players. Thanks to this they will take off
It turns out that two Ukrainian biathletes are in one of the Polish centers for refugees from beyond our eastern border. The Polish Biathlon Association has decided to help. – Our driver is now transporting Julia and O³ena Horodna from the center in Jarosław to Otepa – we read in a related statement published on Twitter.
This weekend the biathletes are competing in the Finnish Kontiolahti. It is known, however, that the Ukrainian women will not be able to attend this competition anymore. – Ukraine will have its representation at next week’s World Cup in Estonia – PZBiath reports.
Let us recall that on Wednesday the Executive Committee decided not to approve the participation of all Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials in their international events until further notice. The EU will discuss further the potential suspension of the two national federations from membership of the IBU, no later than at a meeting scheduled for March 17th.
Earlier, the authorities of the world biathlon prohibited all national teams and Belarus from competing with the national flags, and in the event of their victory, a decision was made not to play the national anthem. Only the recommendation induced the IBU to completely suspend the players of the aggressor’s country and the ones supporting him.
in Otepaa it will start on Thursday, March 10th and will last until Sunday, March 13th. As part of it, sprints, mass start runs and mixed relay races are planned.
