Dutch specialist Ronald Koeman will receive compensation in the amount of 12 million euros after his dismissal from his post as head coach of Barcelona and the termination of his contract. The sum is called by El Pais.
According to the source, the bosses of the Catalans are unhappy with the loss of money. Due to the difficult financial situation, the club’s management hoped to postpone Koeman’s resignation, but the recent defeats of Barcelona forced them to make this decision.
Earlier on October 28, the president of the club, Joan Laporta, announced the resignation of Koeman from the post of head coach of the team. This happened after the defeat of the Catalans in the 11th round of the Spanish Championship against Rayo Vallecano with a score of 0: 1.
Koeman took over FC Barcelona in August 2020. This season, the team is in ninth place in the Spanish league standings with 15 points and six points behind leading Real Madrid. In the Champions League, the Catalans have won one victory in three meetings and are third in Group E.
