Lautaro makes three, Inter tramples Salernitana and takes the lead

Inter Milan are back at the top of the Serie A. On Friday afternoon, the team received Salernitana, lantern of the tournament, at Giuseppe Meazza, and applied a 5-0 rout, with three goals from Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez.

The first goal of shirt 10 came in the 22nd minute of the ball rolling in the first half. Not long after, at 40, the striker finished coldly in front of the goalkeeper to leave his second.

Now in the final stage, Lautaro completed his treble taking advantage of Edin Dzeko’s pass, in the 11th minute. The Bosnian striker was even one more to have an inspired match. There were two goals for him – one at 19 and another at 24, to close the coffin.

With the rout, Inter takes the lead in the table, with now 58 points, one more than Napoli and Milan, vice-leader and third place, respectively. Salernitana, on the other hand, is in the extreme opposite situation, in the last position with only 15 points.

Now, Inter focuses on the Champions League. Next Tuesday, the team will have the return match of the round of 16 of the European tournament against Liverpool, in England. The first leg, in Milan, ended in a 2-0 victory for England. The ball rolls at 17:00 (Brasília time). Salernitana will only return to the field on March 12, to face Sassuolo at home.
