Karpin said that the players are in shock because of the current situation. He noted that the players consider the decision to remove the team from tournaments unfair.

Earlier, Karpin said that Zenit forward Artem Dzyuba expressed a desire to return to the Russian national team. “I met with the Zenit players who were in the national team. Artem also asked for a meeting. He said that he was ready and wanted to play for the national team, ”Karpin shared. He advised the player to train and stated that the headquarters would decide whether to call him or not.
