Tuchel wants to stay at Chelsea: “The club is the perfect fit for me”

The news that Roman Abramovich put the Chelsea for sale took the British by surprise. With that, this Friday, the coach of the team, Thomas Tuchel, was asked about his permanence in the position, in a press conference.

The German commander assured that he is satisfied at the club and that he wants to continue, but confessed that the moment is one of uncertainties.

“I love working at Premier League, in England, I have the exact opposite of a problem staying at Chelsea. The club is in the perfect measure for me, I hope to continue. There are uncertainties, but isn’t it always like that for a coach? I am prepared to deal with it,” he said.

Tuchel also admitted that he and the players had a meeting with the board and that little can be done at the moment.

“They know what’s going on, we had a meeting with Petr Cech, who gave a brief summary and explained the situation. It doesn’t make sense to have big concerns because we don’t have much influence, if any,” he said.

Following, the coach insisted on defending Abramovich and said that the next owner will be lucky to buy the club.

“He is a very passionate owner, who cares about the team, about the performances, that makes him very special. Whether the next owner will be as successful? We have to wait 20 years to find out. Whoever buys Chelsea will be very lucky to have him.”

Roman Abramovich acquired Chelsea in 2003 and turned it into one of the great powers of European football. In this period, the club won 21 cups, including: five Premier League cups, two Champions League it is a world from clubs.

But with the war between Russia and Ukraine, and his closeness to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Abramovich found himself pressured to leave Chelsea.
