The FC Barcelona has dismissed to Ronald Koeman, coach of the first team, at dawn this Thursday after the defeat of the azulgrana team against Rayo Vallecano (1-0) in the 11th day of LaLiga Santander.
The defeat against Rayo places Barça ninth in the standings, with 15 points out of 30 possible, what places them at the same distance -8 points- from the competition leader, Real Madrid, as from relegation. In the Champions League, the Catalan team lost the first two games of the group stage against Bayern Munich (0-3) and Benfica (3-0), while they beat Dinamo Kiev (1-0) in the third day.
The main candidate to replace Koeman is Xavi Hernández, but his hiring is not closed. For now, the subsidiary coach Sergi Barjuan will take over the first team Barça until hiring the new coach.
