Mexican Hector Herrera will leave the Atletico Madrid at the end of the season. This Wednesday, Houston Dynamo, from the United States, made official the future transfer of the player, who signed a pre-contract with the MLS team.
The midfielder signed a contract with the new club until the end of 2024, with an option to extend it for another year. The experienced 31-year-old athlete, highlight of the Mexican national teamwill leave Spanish football in July.
At Dynamo, Herrera will be coached by Brazilian Paulo Nagamura, a former player revealed by Sao Paulo at the beginning of the century. The captain praised the arrival of the reinforcement: “The addition of a player like Héctor validates the new direction and ambition of our club. He is the type of player who will raise our standards.”

Formed at the base of Pachuca, Herrera gained prominence in the Porto, a club he defended between 2013 and 2019, when he joined Atlético de Madrid. The Mexican played 71 games for the mattressesscoring one goal and four assists – this season, he played 20 games.
Already with the shirt of his selection, Héctor entered the field 95 times, scored ten opportunities and gave 14 passes to goal. He also competed in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups.
