Great victory for Lointek Gernika against Flammes Carolo

Lointek Gernika Bizkaia won 58-69 against Flammes Carolo this wednesday at the game of the third day of the group stage of the Eurocup. In the other group H meeting, La Roche Vendée beat Virtus Bologna (66-78).

La Roche Vendée is the leader of group H with three out of three games won, Lointek Gernika is second with two wins and one loss, while Flammes Carolo (one win and 2 losses) occupies third place. Virtus Bolonia is the bottom with three lost games.

At the start of the clash, Lointek Gernika got a six-point lead (4-10), to which the home team responded immediately (9-10), and later took the lead on the scoreboard (17-14). The Biscayan team scored at the end of the first quarter and followed one point behind their rival (17-16).

Ties predominated at the start of the second quarter (20-20 and 22-22). The local team opened a small gap on the scoreboard, although the Basque team turned it around (26-27). With one minute remaining in the quarter, Flammes Carolo obtained an income of seven points (37-32), however, Lointek Gernika shortened the gap and went into the break with two points behind (39-37).

Flammes Carolo returned to equalize the match (53-53) at the beginning of the last quarter, but from that moment on, Lointek Gernika came to dominate the match. The team led by Mario López endorsed a 0-12 partial to their rival (53-65) and left the victory on track. In addition, Lointek Gernika Bizkaia managed the last three minutes well and did not let the victory slip away. (58-69).
