The head of the UFC revealed the position on the Russian fighters of the promotion

The head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, announced the position of the promotion regarding Russian athletes against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine. He became a guest on the Underground podcast.

White stressed that the organization is aimed at holding the planned fights with the participation of the Russians. The head of the UFC added that the situation is extremely difficult.

On February 26, it became known that the main fight of the tournament in London, in which Russian heavyweight Alexander Volkov was supposed to participate, was in jeopardy. Then it was noted that the UFC allows the postponement of the fight. In addition to Volkov, Russian fighters Timur Valiev, Shamil Abdulrakhimov and Sergei Pavlovich should take part in the tournament on March 19.

Russian sport has faced sanctions from international organizations. In particular, Russian football clubs and national teams are excluded from international competitions. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) suspended teams from Russia and Belarus from tournaments under its auspices.
