Cuenca vibrated last Saturday with the mixed martial arts card and with the duel in which the fighter of Shuar origin, ‘Dragon’ Juma, won.
Although one of the three belt fights fell and another was saved hours before the start of the event, last Saturday EMMA 19 had a sensational day with two clashes in the cage that was installed in the Mall del Río Convention Center, in Cuenca .
In the background fight, the Venezuelan Ana Martínez beat with authority, by unanimous decision, the Ecuadorian Germania Lascano in a duel for the championship of the 57 kilogram category, which was played at five rounds and ended after midnight.
Martínez dazzled from start to finish with his powerful striking that did not give the Ambateña Lascano an opportunity to recover even with jiu-jitsu.
The swelling in her mouth and the bleeding prevented her from counterattacking the Ecuadorian who had received her first opportunity to fight for a title in the country.

Shuar conquered the belt of 61 Kg
The main card (Main Event) of EMMA 19 includes two other title bouts: initially Josué Juca had to face Leo Pacheco in the 61 kg division and Ricardo Centeno had to face Diego Morillo in the 77 kg. However, Pacheco excused himself from participating and twelve hours before the performance the organization managed to introduce the fighter of Shuar origin Álex Juma. On the other hand, between Centeno and Morillo there was no combat.
At EMMA 19 new champions were crowned in two divisions, the Dragon Yuma at 61 Kg, and Ana Dynamite Martínez in the 57 Kg. In addition, the public celebrated the return to the cage of Jhonn Gonzales and applauded the performance of new prospects such as Mayton Perea and Darío Vega.
Yuma, who accepted the fight 24 hours before and it took him almost six hours to travel by land from the East to the Azuayan capital to comply with the invitation, did not disappoint and after five bloody rounds Josué Juca won by TKO in the fifth round.
Previously, in the 66 Kg category Jhonn Gonzáles beat Andrés Cordero by split decision and in the 77 Kg Mayton Perea triumphed over Daniel Pinargote by TKO.
