The Czech national football team has refused to host a possible 2022 World Cup qualifier play-off against the Russian team. This was reported on the website of the Football Union of the country.
The organization said that the Czech national team will in no case participate in competitions against Russia. It is noted that negotiations are currently underway with UEFA and FIFA.
On February 26, the head of the Polish Football Union, Cesary Kulesha, wrote that the country’s national team refused to play with the Russian national team in the qualifying match for the 2022 World Cup. He called it the only right decision. The Swedes followed the example of the Poles.
The World Cup qualifying match between Russia and Poland was scheduled for March 24. Five days later, the winner had to compete for the right to enter the world championship with the best in the Sweden-Czech Republic pair.
