Russian Olympic medalist waved the tricolor on camera and angered the Poles

Russian ski jumper Yevgeny Klimov showed the tricolor after the team tournament at the World Cup stage in Lahti, Finland. It is reported by “Championship.com”.

After his attempt, the athlete waved his hand in front of the camera. At the same time, the Russian flag was embroidered on his glove. After that, Polish fans and journalists on the sport.pl portal criticized Klimov and demanded that he be held accountable. They called the behavior of the Russian arrogant and provocative.

On February 25, the International Ski Federation (FIS) banned Russian athletes from participating in international competitions under the national flag. Athletes will continue to compete under their own name and with the name of their country, but the FIS flag and anthem will be used at all official events, including award ceremonies.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing, the Russians for the first time in history won a medal in ski jumping. Silver medals in the team tournament were received by Klimov, Irma Makhini, Danil Sadreev and Irina Avvakumova.
