The champion from Russia described men’s gymnastics with the phrase “it turns me out.”

Yana Batyrshina, five-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics, spoke about her attitude to men’s competitions. Her words are quoted by “Sport-Express”.

The athlete drew attention to the fact that in men’s gymnastics there is a Japanese and Spanish direction, and the first is more acrobatic. “It turns me outward when I see a Spanish direction. Everyone scolds me that I am not tolerant, but I cannot look at it. When men come out all in rhinestones, in women’s tight-fitting suits, they make female elements … I feel bad, ”Batyrshina described her attitude with a similar phrase.

In July this year, the Olympic champion in ice dancing Tatyana Navka said that rhythmic gymnastics is a wonderful female sport, and there is no place for men in it. In her opinion, “such tendencies will lead Western society to a dead end.” In response, the Olympic medalist Yana Kudryavtseva felt that it was impossible to speak so harshly.

In January 2021, men took part in the Russian rhythmic gymnastics championship for the first time. The athletes demonstrated acrobatic elements, as well as exercises with a club, a rope, two rings and a stick.
