In a six-goal game, Rennes beats Montpellier away from home for the French

This Friday, Montpellier and Rennes faced each other for the 26th round of the French Championships. Away from home, Bruno Genesio’s team won 4-2, with goals from Martin Terrier, Benjamin Bourigeaud, Gaetan Laborde and Lovro Majer. Ambroise Oyongo and Elye Wahi noted the principals.

With the result, Rennes momentarily rises to fourth position, with 43 points. Olivier Dall’Oglio’s team occupies the tenth place, with 37.

In the next round, Rennes welcomes Angers, on Sunday (03/06), at 11 am (Brasília time). Montpellier, in turn, visits Nantes on the same day and time.

The game – In the first half, the visitors opened the scoring after eight minutes. Hamari Traore crossed into the area and Martin Terrier sent his head into the net.

Shortly after, at 15, Rennes expanded. Hamari Traore, again, found Benjamin Bourigeaud free in the area to put the ball inside the goal.

The hosts reacted even before the break. At 19, Ambroise Oyongo received a cross and hit low to decrease the score. At 41, came the tie. Elye Wahi received inside the area and volleyed to the back of the goal.

However, in the second stage, at seven minutes, Rennes opened the gap again. Gaetan Laborde went for the penalty kick and converted, shooting at the center of the target. At 39, Lovro Majer scored the visitors’ fourth goal and gave the final numbers to the match.
