The football federations of Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic requested this Thursday, in a joint statement, the organization in other locations of the games scheduled to be played in Russia for the repechage for the world Cup 2022, at the end of March, in the face of Russian “military escalation” in Ukraine.
These federations “do not contemplate traveling to Russia” on March 24 and 29 to compete for qualification for the World Cup and asked FIFA and Uefa to “react immediately and present alternative solutions” about the host of the games. UEFA has convened an extraordinary meeting of its Executive Committee for this Friday at 6 am (Brasilia time).

“The military escalation that we have seen has serious consequences and considerably less security for our national teams and official delegations,” these federations pointed out.
Russia has a game scheduled against Poland on March 24, in Moscow, in the semifinals of their play-off for the 2022 Qatar Cup. If the Russians overcome this stage, they will receive the winner of the other semi-final, between Sweden and the Czech Republic, on March 29.
