Ecuadorian Adrian Luna Martinetti (8-1-0 in MMA) reiterated that he will seek to finish the Mexican Brandon Uruchurtu (1-3 in MMA) “As soon as I fall into my trap”, when they meet in the main event of the UWC 31 show for the vacant bantamweight championship of the Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico (UWC) company on Friday.
“I’m a hunter, a shark, I don’t think I have enough gas to hold on. I can go after five rounds although I don’t think I’ll get that far, I’ll finish it before that,” Luna said at a virtual press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
His opponent on duty recently, at UWC 28, knocked out a teammate of the Guayaquil fighter, Braian Prototype González, so he hopes to continue his power streak against fighters from South America.
“My strength will definitely be my takedown defense and my power, I am ready for whatever comes, I have a good floor but I prefer to stay on my feet and thus unleash my power for victory”, warned Uruchurtu.
In the bantamweight qualifying matchup, local Luis Balderas (3-1-0), from Killer Dogs Team, will clash against Peruvian Juan Díaz (7-1-1), who seeks to improve in the ranking.
The co-star of the evening will be in light weight where Pablo black rooster Sabori (10-6-1), from Sonora, faces Roman black rooster Barro Cordova (5-3-0), from Mexico City.
At 140-pound catchweight, Moroccan Rachid El Hazoume (8-2-0) will face Mexican Francisco Benítez (6-6-0).
UWC 31 will take place this Friday, February 25, with the main card starting at 5:00 p.m. local time (8:00 p.m., Ecuadorian time) and will be broadcast by UFC Fight Pass, with a total of eight bouts scheduled at facilities by Entram Gym.
