Roman Abramovich banned from living in England for liaison with Russian government, says newspaper

Roman Abramovich would be banned from residing in England for involvement with Putin’s Russian government. According to the newspaper “The Sun”, the owner of the Chelsea would not be able to live in the United Kingdom, in addition to having entered the country for the last time on an Israeli visa, which guarantees a six-month stay.

According to the newspaper’s sources, the country’s security officials were told to bar the Russian’s entry. Furthermore, any attempt by Abramovich to obtain English citizenship would be promptly refused.

In a meeting in the House of Commons, equivalent to the House of Representatives, it was said by politician Chris Bryant that there are documents from a 2019 investigation that reveal relations between Abramovich and the president of Russia.

“That was almost three years ago and yet very little has been done about it. Shouldn’t Mr Abramovich own a football club in this country anymore? Should we be looking to seize some of his assets, including his £152m home?” Chris asked.
