Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Alexander Emelianenko took a photo with American Jeff Monson after a fight under the auspices of Hardcore Fighting. The post is available on the heavyweight’s Instagram.
Monson, 51, and Emelianenko, 40, headlined the organization’s tournament on February 23. They fought with their bare fists. Despite the difference in size and weight, Emelianenko failed to knock out his opponent. Nevertheless, the fight ended in victory for the Russian.
In the photo, Emelianenko hugs Monson. The American has bruises and cuts on his face.
Emelianenko took part in the Hardcore Fighting event after failing in mixed martial arts. In November 2021, he lost to the Brazilian Marcio Santos at the Absolute Championship Akhmat tournament. The Russian expressed his readiness to replace Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, who dropped out of the event.
Emelianenko is known for his performances in Pride, M-1 Global, WFCA.
