Athletic Club draws with Espanyol and scores a point

Athletic Club drew one with Espanyol (1-1) this Tuesday at the RCDE Stadium in the match of the 11th journey of LaLiga Santander. The rojiblanco team was superior, but forgave too much against the rival goal and added a point.

The rojiblanco team was superior to its rival at the start of the match, although it was Espanyol who had the first approaches to the goal defended by Unai Simón. However, from minute 10, Athletic Club dominated the clash. In the 13th minute, goalkeeper Diego López cleared Sancet’s shot, and Cabrera avoided Muniain’s goal after taking the ball under the goal line. Sancet tried it again in the 23rd with a volley and the Galician goalkeeper had to shine again. Espanyol was overtaken by their rival, and when it was worst, in the 41st minute, a center hit in the Vesga’s hand inside the red-and-white area and the referee signaled a penalty favorable to the Barcelona team.
