Finally, the Portuguese Luís Castro had his future defined. This Wednesday, Al Duhail denied the departure of the coach, speculated at Corinthians and Botafogo, and informed that he will stay in Qatar until the end of his contract.
“The board is aware of the recurring news in recent days about a possible departure of coach Luís Castro. Al Duhail confirms that it has received several offers for the coach’s services. However, it also confirms its link with him until the end of his contract”, wrote the club.
The commander has a link with the club until June. In recent weeks, Castro was targeted by Corinthians and said yes to the alvinegros, but, however, he would also have given a positive response to Botafogo.
The Carioca press speculated that the Portuguese coach would receive US$ 2.5 million (R$ 12.65 million) a year. The Portuguese was the favorite to take over the carioca club.
On the side of the São Paulo team, the negotiation was ended after the leaders of Timão refused to pay the termination fine.
