Bidasoa Irun gets the ticket for the round of 16 despite their defeat against Fuchse Berlin (35-23)

Bidasoa Irun qualified for the round of 16 of the EHF European League this Tuesday, despite their defeat against Fuchse Belin (35-23) in the match corresponding to eighth day of the group stage. Despite losing, the team from Irun sealed their pass to the next phase of the competition mathematical wayafter the defeats of the Tatran Presov and Pfadi Winterthur.

The first goal of the game was scored by Bidasoa Irun (0-1)although the local team reacted quickly and took the initiative both in the game and on the scoreboard (3-1). The locals enjoyed advantages of five and four goals, which Bidasoa Irun managed to minimize (9-7). However, in the ten minutes before the break, the German team opened a gap in the electronic (16-10).

At the start of the second half, the Gipuzkoan team scored two consecutive goals (16-12), but Fuchse Berlin did not get nervous, and imposed themselves on the pitch again. Little by little, the superiority of the local team prevailed, and by the 50th minute the match was practically sentenced (28-18).

In the final minutes, Fuchse Berlin did not give Bidasoa Irun a chance, and the Basque team took the defeat with a definitive result of 35-23.
