Aubameyang: “Signing for FC Barcelona is an opportunity that you have once in a lifetime”

FC Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang explained this Tuesday why he decided to sign for the Barça team: “Barça is Barça and you can’t say no”.

Days after debuting as a scorer in LaLiga with a hat-trick against Valencia, the Gabonese striker attended Sport, Sports world and L’Sportiu to talk about his first weeks at the club.

“Signing for Barça is an opportunity that you have once in your life”, insisted Aubameyang, aware that the team is not going through its best period, but convinced that “it will soon return to the place where it deserves to be”.

The former Arsenal player is clear about what he has come to contribute: “I have been scoring goals for many years, and that is what I will try to continue doing. I want to score a lot of goals that can help the team get victories, which is always the most important thing”.

Regarding his adaptation, Auba assures that it is being easy. “I am not aware of adapting, because I had watched many Barça games, and at Arsenal, with Arteta, we played a game similar to the one here”, he pointed out.

With the second game of the Europa League tie against Napoli just around the corner, the Gabonese was ambitious.

“We want to win the Europa League, we are ready and we really want to move forward. In addition, it is one of the ways to access the next Champions League. In the first leg we played a good game, we lacked scoring one or two goals, but there we will surely have options. We have to be more ‘killers’”, he stated.
