In 2010, Rudnianka Rudna Wielka had to say goodbye to the pitch on which she played her matches, as the area was handed over for the construction of the S19 expressway. From that moment on, the club from Podkarpacie wandered around the pitches rented from other teams. Finally, in March 2021, it was rebuilt.

– Almost two meters of soil was delivered to the entire area. The pitch has computer irrigation, there is also artificial lighting. A club building with changing rooms and showers adapted to people with disabilities was built. About a hundred kids train here, and there are also seniors playing in the A-Class. – said President of Rudnianka Rudna Wielka Łukasz Kłeczek.
Shortly after the opening of the new facility, however, the club received more devastating news. The portal informs that Rudnianka may again be deprived of a place to play. Klubowe is located on the route of the newly planned railway line. The project of the Central Communication Port provides for the construction of 155 km of new railway lines and the modernization of another 173 km of the already existing ones.
The activists of Rudnianka Rudna Wielka are shocked. They cannot believe that, once again, they may be deprived of a stadium. A stadium that has just been put into use.
– The railroad route was planned elsewhere. Then the first rumors appeared, but we were calm about it. At the beginning of January, we saw the map and we couldn’t believe our eyes. The line crosses the pitch at the height of the penalty area – quotes the president of Rudnianka interia.pl.
– This is a ridiculous idea. On this side of S-19 there are houses and on the other side there are empty areas. Someone, however, decided to lead the line through our pitch and in the vicinity of the buildings – adds Łukasz Kłeczek.
Representatives and residents protested at the stadium against the CPK project. On February 18, public consultations on this matter were also held. For the time being, however, it is not known whether the objection of Rudnianka Rudna Wielka and its residents is sufficient to change the design of the railway line.
– If this protest does not help, the voivode will have to issue an environmental opinion. Then we will appear in front of the voivodeship office to fight for our club. We do not want to be orphaned again – emphasizes Łukasz Kłeczek.
KS Rudnianka Rudna Wielka is a club that was founded in 1952. Currently, the senior team is in group 1 in Rzeszów, class A. After having played 15 rounds of the 2021/2022 season, the team is on the fifteenth, penultimate place in the table.
