Petroperú criminally denounces former officials for omission of functional acts

The state company Petroperú has communicated this afternoon that it has criminally denounced its former general manager, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales; the former commercial manager, Arturo Vargas Romero and the former finance manager, Mathius Sersen Navarrete, for omission of functional acts. This in order to “correct this irregular situation”, such as the issuance of letters of guarantee by the company Peruvian Gas Societyfor an amount of S/ 26 million.

The statement specifies that the business relationship with the company Peruvian Gas Society began in 2019, during the management of Carlos Paredes Lanatta, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Carlos Barrientos Gonzales, General Manager at the time, and who were in charge of granting the line of credit, as well as carrying out the scrutiny and verification of the documentation presented by the company.

However, some time after the process passed through the Internal Audit and Risks Management and multiple irregularities were detected and verified, “the disciplinary and/or legal processes were not applied adequately, limiting itself to separating from the company a lower level” is detailed.

Lastly, the company indicates that it undertakes to keep public opinion informed about the complaints that have been filed against all those who are responsible for this type of irregularity, endorsed by the previous administrations of the company.
