Felipe Caicedo continues as a substitute at Inter Milan

Felipe Caicedo, recovered from the “load on the adductors” that left him out of the Derby della Madonnina and the Coppa Italia clash against AS Roma days ago, he is on Inter’s substitute bench for the third time since joining the club last January, this Sunday at the San Siro, in a match against Sassuolo on matchday 26 of Serie A.

Wearing number 88, the Ecuadorian striker awaits his opportunity on the bench, while coach Simone Inzaghi entrusted this day to Chilean Alexis Sánchez and Argentine Lautaro Martínez in the interista attack. Bosnian Edin Dzeko has also started as a substitute.

In the rest of the eleven, coach Inzaghi put Handanovič as the starting goalkeeper; Škriniar, De Vrij, Dimarco, Darmian, Gagliardini, Barella, Çalhanoğlu, Perišić; Alexis and Lautaro.

Caicedo watched from the bench his team’s defeat against Liverpool, last Wednesday, at the start of the Champions League round of 16. He did it before in the league match against Napoli.

Other substitutes today are: Cordaz, Radu, Dumfries, Kolarov, Ranocchia, Arturo Vidal, D’Ambrosio, Sangalli, Casadei and Carboni.

Inter, now one game less than their neighbor AC Milan, who on Saturday saved a point at Salernitana (2-2), could end the day co-leader if they beat Sassuolo. (D)
