Russian Olympians took part in the parade of athletes during the closing ceremony of the 2022 Games in Beijing. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
About 60 members of the Russian delegation took part in the procession. Skier Alexander Bolshunov, who won three gold, one silver and one bronze medals at the Games, became the flag bearer of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) team.
The Russian team at the Games consisted of 461 people. In addition to the athletes themselves, these are coaches, staff, as well as leaders and employees of the ROC and the Federal Biomedical Agency.
Olympians of the Russian team won 32 medals in Beijing, including six gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals. Thus, domestic athletes have updated their own national record at the Winter Olympics and surpassed the results of the Games in Sochi. Skiers brought the most medals to the team – they have 11 awards, figure skating is in second place with six awards, biathlon is third – four medals.
The closing ceremony started at 15:00 Moscow time. It takes place at the Beijing National Stadium.
