Second time. Piotr Michalski reacts to the lack of a medal. “Of course”

In terms of the white and red medal achievements, they have not been particularly successful so far. So far, he only won a bronze medal, taking third place in the individual competition on the normal hill. Twice, in turn, he could be happy.

Michalski reacted to the lack of a medal

In the race of 500 meters, Poland took fifth place, while the competition on a twice as long distance was finished fourth. In the first of these distances he lost the medal by 0.03 seconds, while in the second one he was worse than the bronze medalist by only 0.08 seconds.

Although such a small difference could make the athlete disappointed, Michalski himself approached his results calmly. “To be 4th at the Olympics is no bad luck. Of course, he was close, twice, but this is sport and you have to be happy” – wrote Michalski in the post he posted on Twitter.

Michalski lost the medal at the very end of the competition

The Friday rivalry, in which Michalski was close to the bronze medal, was actually resolved after the last two skaters. Before the start of the race with the final pair, the Pole was third. The changes in the leading places took place only after the race with Kai Verbij and Laurent Dubreuil, which had an unexpected course.

The Canadian started the race at a fast pace, but as time began to decline, hopes for a medal for the Pole began to increase. In the meantime, his rival gave up the fight on the track, who, as it turned out later, did it on purpose not to “brake” Dubreuil. Thanks to this, the skater in the last meters could pick up the pace. Ultimately it placed him in second place.
