Then Zenit equalized: in the 25th minute forward Artem Dziuba scored, and three minutes later – midfielder Malcolm. At the 41st minute, midfielder Andres Guardado once again put the Spaniards ahead.
The return match will be held on February 24 in Seville and will begin at 23:00 Moscow time. The opponent of the winner of this pair will be determined on February 25 during a draw at the headquarters of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in Nyon, Switzerland.
Spartak Moscow went straight to the 1/8 finals of the Europa League. The club finished first in Group C.
